The deadline to complete the 2016-2017 free and reduced lunch application is Oct. 4. Students eligible for the program must complete an application every year to continue to receive school meals for free or at a reduced price.

Potential state funding cuts can harm Texas school districts

On Sept. 1, 2017, school districts will no longer receive Additional State Aid for Tax Reduction funds, ASATR for short, unless changes are made during this legislative session. Losing this funding will harm our district’s budget for hiring and retaining staff as well as student enrichment programs.
