Mike Davis
Superintendent

Here we are once again at the start of a new year! The beginning of the 2011-2012 school year can be summed up Mike Davis quickly: record high temperatures and record low funding for schools. Even with unpleasant obstacles in our way we are still going to have a great year. We have great teachers who care about your kids and want to see them all be successful. Your children make each day enjoyable and our goal at KISD is to have the kind of classes in which your children want to be present. As always, we have high expectations and want to see students perform at their very best both academically and outside the classroom.

Krum schools continue to grow in student numbers. We are quickly approaching 1800 students this year, with more checking into our campuses every day. This October, we will take what is called the snapshot of the District in which each district in Texas submits their enrollment. That October picture will determine the classification of each school and in what local district they will compete. This year is almost certain to move us to 3A, making us one of the smallest 3A schools in Texas. As we continue to grow, we won’t be the smallest for long. Keep watching in February to find out where Krum Independent School District will be placed.

We are a short time from moving the administration, business office and technology department out of the middle school, which will allow for a very small remodel job and transition of the space currently occupied by district offices into classrooms once again.

Krum ISD is proud to have your students in our classes and we look forward to helping them become productive citizens of our great state and America. We always appreciate your support and want you to know that we could not do this without involved parents. As the year progresses, let’s work together to raise happy, successful, and educated children.

Thanks,

Mike Davis
