Facility Upgrades

November 15, 2019

Bobcat Nation,

We are very excited to give everyone an update on two construction projects taking place on our high school campus.

First, the construction on a new band practice pad began on November 1. Concrete will be poured next week, and yard lines will be painted once the concrete is set. 2 lighting poles will be installed near the front of the pad. We are very excited to provide this dedicated and safe practice area for our marching band students, which is scheduled to be done around the end of December. The following rendering shows the exact location of this practice pad, with ‘X’s marking the location of the lighting.

Additionally, the football field is being replaced. Old turf is currently being torn up, and new turf will soon be laid in its place. This project is anticipated to be completed in the beginning of January. This new turf will feature a new design, shown below.

The surrounding track is scheduled for replacement in the spring.

We feel it is important to note that the school board and administration at Krum ISD are excited about the opportunity to pursue these facility upgrades without having to come to our community with a bond election. Due to effective financial management, we are able to finance these projects out of the available fund balance while simultaneously providing a tax reduction of approximately 8.7% to our stakeholders.

Thank you all for your continued support of our students!
