Krum ISD’s Taylor Poston Published in School Board Magazine

September 11, 2020

Mrs. Poston submitted an article, along with a photo that made the front cover, to Texas Lone Star magazine, a publication of the Texas Association of School Boards, on the graduation the KHS Class of 2020. This unusual graduation ceremony was the result of the COVID pandemic that could have potentially canceled the milestone celebration that is eagerly anticipated by high school seniors and their families. In her article, Taylor brought to life the unique ceremony held at the Texas Motor Speedway, where graduates crossed the finish line, one by one, receiving their diplomas and symbolically marking the end of their high school race. Families of the graduates watched from their cars parked on the infield, as the event also played out on the world’s largest outdoor media screen. The article can be viewed online at

Taylor assumed the role of Krum ISD Public Information Officer in July 2018. In addition, she gained experience in the field of public education while working as a paraprofessional at Shady Shores Elementary in the Lake Dallas Independent School District.

Taylor received an Associate’s of Arts Degree from North Texas Central College in 2016, then continued her education with Grand Canyon University. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing in September 2019.  Taylor has been married to her husband, Dakota, for four years and they are the proud pet parents of two Labradors, Cali and Kimber.
