I am very excited to welcome each of you to the 2019-2020 school year.  Krum Independent School District welcomes back our students and staff for what is sure to be a year full of opportunities and great achievements.  We want to recognize those students and staff that are new to the district and we look forward to the great contributions you will make to our school.  Krum ISD is a learner-centered district that puts the interest of our students first in every decision that we make.  Krum ISD’s mission is to create a collaborative atmosphere with parents, students, and members of the community in order to ensure students will reach their full potential by providing every child with an exceptional education. We will strive to prepare our students academically and socially to embrace their future challenges, as well as ignite the desire to be lifelong learners, by providing a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.

We strive to offer programs that reach a variety of interests for our students and our community.  Our technology 1-to-1 initiative that began in 2014 has allowed us to issue Chromebooks to every student in grades 6 through 12.  We provide opportunities for our students to enroll in dual credit courses as they work towards their graduation.  Many are able to secure a year or more of college credit before they graduate.  We offer high-quality career & technology courses so that students can explore career pathways that might interest them.  We have excellent extracurricular programs that have been very successful.  Our music and choir departments continue to be one of the best around and consistently place at the top in all of their competitions.  I am confident that we have many options for our students to explore and become involved in.

The community of Krum has high expectations for our school and continue to support our academic and extracurricular programs at every opportunity.  The Krum ISD Education Foundation contributed over $25,000 back to the school this year in various grants and scholarships.  We have been able to implement new and innovative programs at each campus as a direct result of the efforts of our education foundation.  Our booster clubs work tirelessly to support our students in many different areas as well.

The Krum ISD Board of Trustees has a firm commitment to making every decision based on what is best for our students.  This year, we have made the decision to reconfigure our 2nd -3rd-grade campus and our 4th -5th-grade campus into two 2nd -5th grade campuses.  We are optimistic about the benefits this will provide to our young learners and the improved consistency they will experience in their early years of education.  We will continue to be mindful of how we spend the taxpayers’ money and make sure we are putting those resources towards our goal of offering a high-quality educational experience to every student.

As we move into the new school year, we do so with excitement and anticipation of the great things our students and staff will accomplish this year.  We invite our parents, guardians and community members to collaborate with us to make sure we are doing all that we can to help our students be successful.  We know the rich tradition that is Krum ISD and hope that we can continue to build on these successes.  Thank you very much for the opportunity to work with your children.

Go Bobcats!
