Dear Parents and Students,
As we enter the spring semester of the 2020-2021 school year, we want to outline the student requirements for the state assessments administered this spring. While the state removed the A-F Accountability labeling for Texas schools and districts, the individual responsibility for students has not been removed. All students will take the corresponding STAAR and STAAR Alternate.
The state does not offer an “at-home” option for students to take STAAR, so it is important that your student be on campus on the days these assessments are given. The data provided by these assessments not only helps us know where there may be unfinished learning, it is used to monitor and improve curriculum each year. Please join us in working toward your student's success by making sure that he /she is in school for each of the testing days. Each campus will ensure that health and safety guidelines are in place for each student.
Please be looking for more detailed information from the campuses about the dates and schedules for each STAAR test administration. You can access the Krum ISD Testing Calendar at any time on the district website.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your student’s campus administrator.
*This message was emailed to all parents/guardians of students in grades 3-12 using the district's School Messenger Communications platform, in addition to being posted on the district website, on March 26, 2021.
