District of Innovation
The Krum ISD Board of Trustees passed a resolution in 2016 to start the process to become a District of Innovation based on the recommendation of a committee comprised of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. The original public hearing was held on April 12, 2017. The Krum ISD Board of Trustees submitted the District of Innovation to the Texas Education Agency which went into effect starting with the 2017-2018 school year. The original plan is set to expire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
In an effort to continue this flexibility within the Krum ISD, the committee has developed recommendations to continue the plan with slight revisions. On January 26, 2022, the committee finalized the District of Innovation recommendations which are required to be posted on the website for 30 days prior to a public hearing. Please see the recommendations: (insert a link to the document)
The public hearing regarding these recommendations is scheduled to take place on April 13, 2022.
Krum ISD would like to publicly thank the parents, teachers, administrators, and community members who participated in the development of the District of Innovation plan.
