Meet Our Superintendent
Dr. Cochran comes to Krum ISD from Eastland ISD where he has served as Superintendent since 2014. During his tenure with Eastland, Dr. Cochran was named the ESC Region 14 Superintendent of the Year in both 2017 and 2020. Dr. Cochran has 23 years of experience in education, 19 of which have been in leadership positions and the last eight as a superintendent.
His professional accomplishments as a district leader with Eastland ISD include increasing dual credit participation of high school students to result in 25% of seniors graduating with an associate’s degree, increasing the district’s fund balance by 75% over four years, passing a $12.5 million bond, and the construction of a new transportation facility, as well as a new CTE center.

The Krum ISD Board of Trustees feels that his vast and varied experience in Texas education, along with a deep passion and an unwavering commitment to serving the students, teachers, staff, and community make him a true visionary, as well as a servant leader who they believe will pilot Krum ISD into the future with enthusiasm, skill, and a relentless desire for greatness.
Originally from the DFW area, Dr. Cochran has taught at Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD where he also served as Assistant Principal at Hurst Junior High School and L. D. Bell High School. His first role as a high school principal was with Decatur ISD. Dr. Cochran earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oklahoma City University, his Masters of Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He holds certifications in Elementary 1-8 and his principal certification in addition to his superintendent certification.
Dr. Cochran has been married to his wife, Danielle for 23 years. Together they have three daughters.
