Inaugural Sorting Day

Inaugural Sorting Day

Dyer Elementary kicked off the 2025 school year by introducing the House System inspired by the Ron Clark Academy. Last Spring, SONIC provided grants for seven staff members to attend professional development at The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, the staff returned ready to implement some AMAZING ideas! The House System is designed to build a stronger sense of connection, belonging, and school spirit among students and staff. Every staff member and student was sorted into a house on August 29.

Amistad - The House of Friendship

Rêveur - The House of Dreamers

Altruismo - The House of Givers

Isibindi - The House of Courage

When you enter the school building you will notice the House names, colors, symbols, decor, and core values! Throughout the school year, Houses will work together to encourage positive behavior, celebrate achievements, support one another, and engage in fun, friendly competitions. Principal Macy Faught said, “This is more than a behavior system—it’s a way to foster joy, connection, and school pride. We’re excited to see how our students will grow as leaders and learners through this fun and meaningful program!”  The House System helps build community; as students connect across grade levels and develop friendships beyond their classrooms, encourages leadership, promotes character and culture, and celebrates all wins.
