Krum Middle School Welcomes New CISNT Site Coordinator

Krum Independent School District is proud to announce the addition of a Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) Program to Krum Middle School, made possible through the generous support of the Meg Matters Foundation. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting students’ academic success and well-being.

“We are excited to welcome Community in Schools to the middle school,” said Dr. Jason Cochran, Superintendent. “We anticipate that it will provide invaluable support to our students by addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to creating a nurturing environment where every student can thrive. We look forward to seeing the positive difference Community in Schools will make in the lives of our students and families in the coming months.”

CISNT is a community-based dropout prevention program that surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CISNT serves more than 43,000 students across Cooke, Denton, and Wise counties, with dedicated Site Coordinators working directly within 62 schools across seven North Texas school districts to help students overcome challenges that can stand in the way of success.

CISNT Site Coordinators provide services to address the needs of students, families, and the school community. CISNT programs offer academic enrichment, behavioral support, basic needs assistance, mental health counseling, mentoring, and more, tailored to each student’s unique needs. CISNT is present in schools to ensure students have what they need to graduate, build a strong foundation for their futures, and contribute to a thriving North Texas community.

“We are truly grateful to the Meg Matters Foundation for their generous gift that has made this partnership possible,” said Lindsey Boone, Principal of Krum Middle School. “Having a dedicated CISNT Site Coordinator on campus working alongside our school counselors will be such a blessing for our students, ensuring their needs are supported in a way that cares for the whole child.”

The Meg Matters Foundation is known for its dedication to enriching educational opportunities and fostering community partnerships. Their contribution underscores the power of collaboration in strengthening schools and empowering youth.

"We are honored to partner with Krum ISD and Meg Matters to provide wraparound support that strengthens student academic success and well-being. Together, we are ensuring students have the support and resources they need to thrive in life," said Tasha Moore, Chief Executive Officer of CISNT.

Krum ISD looks forward to a successful partnership with the Meg Matters Foundation and the positive impact the new CISNT Program will have on the Krum Middle School community.
