Accountability Performance Ratings

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has created an accountability performance ratings (A - F) that scores school districts in three domains;

  • Student Achievement - based on how well students perform on the STAAR exam
  • School Progress - measures improvement on those STAAR scores from the prior year and against peers in similar schools.
  • Closing the Gaps - compares the performance of students in different demographic groups

These three domains are heavily reliant on standardized test scores, and these test scores are the only performance measure taken into consideration for elementary and middle school ratings.

Federal Report Cards

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires each State education agency to prepare and publish an annual report card with state-, district- and campus-level data.  For more information visit the TEA website.

School Report Cards

The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance.
