Hansel Elementary Empowers Students Through Hansel Home Team Leadership Program

Hansel Elementary is committed to nurturing essential leadership skills in its students, and one standout initiative is the Hansel Home Team. This student club, comprised of dedicated 3rd through 5th graders, takes pride in their school and embraces the mission to “notice and do.”

Each morning from 7:15 to 7:55 a.m., Home Team members tackle important campus needs they identify themselves. Their responsibilities include opening car doors to ensure a safe drop-off line, picking up trash and playground equipment, organizing the lost and found, monitoring hallways, and helping younger students gain independence during breakfast.

The values of safety, empathy, pride, mentorship, and compassion that students develop through these roles extend throughout their school day and classrooms.

Applications for this year’s Hansel Home Team have been pouring in, and the club eagerly anticipates starting its first round of jobs on September 22. Hansel looks forward to watching these young leaders make a positive impact on their campus once again.
